The
Department of Ethics Education aims to help students develop a deep understanding
of the theory and practices of moral education. It also aims to help students acquire
the practical skills necessary for effective moral teaching in the elementary school
classroom. To this end, students study Eastern and Western traditions of ethical
thoughts, moral education programs, issues on Reunification between North and South
Korea, effective models of teaching in the classroom, and evaluation of both the
student's moral development and the program's effectiveness.

Department of Korean Language Education aims to develop competent Korean language
teachers by helping students understand and acquire teaching skills and learning
strategies for the whole area of Korean language including speaking, listening,
reading and writing.

theories of social studies education, and develop students' practical teaching
skills so they can take charge of social studies education at their particular school.

goal of the Department of Science Education is to increase students' understanding
of the fundamental concepts and principles that are essential to elementary science
education by providing a curriculum that covers aspects of physics, chemistry, biology
and earth science.

of the basic theories of physical education as well as the practical skills that
need to be competent elementary physical education teachers.

Department of Music Education aims to nurture elementary school teachers who can
understand the value and importance of music education, and who have practical techniques
and teaching skills required for music instruction. For this goal, students take
private lessons in vocal, instrumental and Korean traditional instrumental music,
and learn about music theory, teaching materials and teaching/learning mathods in
order to enhance their abilities in the general area of music education.

and understanding of practical arts theory and technology. Furthermore, it strives
to develop students' expressive ability and cultivate teachers capable of delivering
courses in unique environmental areas such as industrial living, home econmics,
agricultural life science and computer utility. To this end, the department emphasizes
a teaching-learning approach that is based on the principle of work-orientated education
to achieve educational objectives.

It also strives to broaden students' cultural understanding of, and sensitivity
to, English speaking communities.
